Indiana Fun World will bride when we form collaborations with military personnel and veterans. We look forward to partnering with Veterans Administration hospitals to making outreach visits to soldiers with combat-related injuries, including traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.
This program will involve a specially trained museum educator providing a very brief talk about a work from the museum’s permanent collection, guiding the participants in a hands-on activity related to the work and encouraging exploration through the exploration of our vast collection in our museum and aquarium.
Indiana Fun World of Fun Wounded Warriors program provides services to veterans in the areas of mind, body, economic empowerment and engagement.
Indiana Fun World will partner with the Veterans Affairs Recreational Therapy Division to serve local veterans. We will develop an Outreach to Wounded Warriors, in which our museum and aquarium staff visits soldiers with combat-related injuries, including many with post-traumatic stress disorder.
A specially-trained aquarium or museum educator discusses a work from the museum’s collection, leads a hands-on activity related to the work and encourages participants to explore their own backgrounds and history. Every two to three months, the soldiers visit the museum for a gallery experience and a hands-on activity.
